Based out of Washington, D.C., our team members are selectively chosen based on a top notch academic record, proven analytical and interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated leadership record. 

As such, we are proud to be part of Georgetown University's elite nonprofit consulting team. 

Sonya Liu, Chief Executive Officer

Sonya is a sophomore in the School of Foreign Service majoring in Global Business. This is her fourth semester with GGC. Previously, Sonya has worked as a consultant on the Bangladesh SmileBank project and as the project manager on the Tajikistan MicroInvest project. Most recently she was the Director of Client Management. She has received experience in operations management through her internship with China Poly Corp Investment on a project team specializing in international energy project due diligence. Outside of GGC, Sonya is involved in various community outreach initiatives on campus and runs two tutoring businesses in St.Louis, her hometown.

Jesse Gibson, CHIEF operating

Jesse is a junior in the School of Foreign Service majoring in Regional and Comparative Studies (focusing on poverty in Latin America and Africa). Additionally, he is pursuing a Spanish minor and an International Development certificate. This is Jesse's fourth semester in GGC. He has previously worked on projects in Paraguay and Tajikistan and most recently served as the Project Manager for the Thirst Project in Los Angeles. Jesse received experience working in the international development space while working as an Educational Intern for Fundación Alerta Verde, an environmental education NGO in Cochabamba, Bolivia. Outside of GGC, Jesse is the president of the Georgetown Native American Student Council and works in the Center for Latin American Studies. Jesse is originally from Norman, Oklahoma.
